[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Why? Because nuts, seeds, beans and grains all have PHYLATES LECTINS, a protective mechanism of these plants.
Phylates can block your mineral absorption and the lectins can make you feel hungrier than before you ate the nuts! Lectins can also damage intestinal cells, which can lead to a leaky gut.
By soaking your nuts, seeds and beans first, you are breaking down the phylates and lectins.
HOW?
All you need to do is:
- Rinse your nuts off (OMG…this makes me laugh like a 4th Grader)
- Soak them for 7-12 hours covered with about 2 to 3 inches of water.
- Rinse your nuts off
- Spread them out onto a pan and bake them at 140 degrees for 7-8 hours (or place them into a dehydrator) until crispy.
Sprinkle a bit of high quality salt over the top of them before roasting if you like them a bit salty. I salt ½ of my batch and leave the other half unsalted to use for my almond milk.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
