Superhero of the Month –
Nikenji Fransisco
Congratulations Nikenji! You are definitely a superhero!
Team Mo and I chose our SUPER HERO OF THE MONTH based on several important factors that we believe reflect the values on which the Mo-Mentum Fitness world-class culture has been built upon.
Mo-Mentum’s Core Values include:
- Mindset for Growth, constant never ending learning….if you’re not growing you’re shrinking
- Over deliver on all we do
- Tribe we all need an incredible tribe! We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.
- TransparencyWe believe in honesty and being transparent
- Vitality- we believe in living vibrantly and all out
I remember the night Nikenji Francisco and her boyfriend Alex Sneed walked through the doors of Mo-Mentum to ask about our programs. They thought they would come in, ask questions and then go home but I could see so much more for their futures! Needless to say we are so happy they are both part of the Mo-Tribe today.
Don’t let Nikenji’s quiet demeanor fool you. From the first moment I met her, I could see a warrior’s strength inside of her. We have ALL watched Nikenji bloom, in the past year, into a strong young woman who is driven to create her most extraordinary life.
It takes courage to set goals for your body when you aren’t sure what your body is capable of doing. It takes courage to walk into a gym and ask for help and then to keep showing up especially on the days you don’t feel like coming. It takes courage to push though lifting a heavy weights and finishing a spin class when it hurts! But the rewards transform your life! Nikenji is such an excellent example of the power of consistency, and challenging fears.
Nikenji has given us the opportunity to watch a super hero rediscover her super powers including her inner and outer Wonder Woman strength.
My heart sores when Nikenji walks into Mo-Mentum with her confidence beaming. She is probably not even aware how much she inspires others as she continues to challenge her body and her mind everyday to create her most extraordinary life.
Congratulations Nikenji! You are definitely a superhero! Thank you for being such an inspiration! We love you girl!
Q & A
Meet Nikenji, Mo-Mentum Fitness’s Superhero of March 2019! She definitely is a superhero!
Describe what your life (and your health) was like before fitness
“I didn’t like looking in the mirror before I started working out or taking full-body photos either. I felt sluggish and lethargic; simple tasks like climbing stairs and walking small distances left me out of breath. I ate fast-food pretty much every day, for lunch and dinner sometimes.”
Was there ever a low point or an experience that made your priorities change
“I went to a music festival with my boyfriend and realized that I didn’t like only being able to dance for an hour or two before getting too tired and leaving the venue early. Not only that, I didn’t like how I looked in the few pictures we took.”
How did fitness come into your life (or back into your life)?
“I’ve never been athletic; I didn’t grow up playing sports. My boyfriend and I had moved across the street from Mo-mentum and after the music festival, I told him how I felt. We then decided to look into getting into shape together and drove over to check it out. We were only there to inquire but Amanda got us both to sign-up for a trial. And here we are.
What kind of results have you seen since starting a regular fitness program?
“I don’t get out of breath from doing simple motions anymore, I have better stamina, my strength has gotten better, and I’m starting to work on my flexibility. Plus, my butt has never looked better!
Why do you make fitness a priority in your life?
“Working out is hard-work, but I enjoy the benefits immensely. For the first time in my life, I like the way I look and feel now; I want to keep this up for as long as I can. I don’t really have an end-goal in mind with fitness but I want to see how far I can go.”
Please talk more about the actual changes in your life?
“I can stay on my feet for hours before I start to get tired; I can lift heavier items at my job (warehouse) without needing assistance; and I can lift multiple loads of laundry or bags of groceries at the same time and carry them from the car to my apartment.”
These days what makes you truly happy and feel at peace?
“Be able to exercise, eat home-cooked meals, and relax at home with my boyfriend and our pets makes me feel happy.”
How do you feel compared to 1 year ago?
“I feel like I know my body a little better. Before, I never knew how hard to go while working out because I didn’t really know the limits of my body. Now I push myself to go harder because I know that I can do it and if I can’t, at least I tried.”
SPECIFICS? JOB? AGE? CHILDREN?
“I am 26 years old (27 in August). I am an eCommerce Sales Associate/Inventory Clerk. I do not have any children at the moment and I am not married, but I am in a long-term relationship with my boyfriend Alex (also a member).”
