Superhero of the Month – Carly Giffin

[/ultimate_ctation][vc_column_text css_animation=”left-to-right” css=”.vc_custom_1507075825597{margin-bottom: -5px !important;}”]The first day that Carly walked in the doors of Mo-Mentum I knew she was here to stay.  She looked hopeful and petrified at the same time.  That was good!  I knew she cared about her results and was willing to do what it takes.  I was right!  Carly has been determined since the day she started at Mo-Mentum.  She’s had her frustrations but has faced them them and moved past many of them.

Carly’s had to change some of her perceptions about food, exercise and even time management  so she can fit her workouts and food prep into her schedule, and she’s done it.  Carly has a growth mindset and has been transforming her life, empowering herself and her family, and strengthening her body and mind for over a year now!  She is a bright light at Mo-Mentum and we are so grateful to have her in the family!

Describe what your life (and your health) was like before fitness

“I was anxious, didn’t have self-confidence, was not disciplined to take care of my body.  I had mood swings, low-energy and was a couch potato”

Was there ever a low point or an experience that made your priorities change?

“When I saw a picture of myself at a close friend’s wedding.  I had been in denial about my weight, but there was no denying the truth in that picture.”

How did fitness come into your life (or back into your life)?

“When I decided to step foot in Mo-Mentum Fitness”

What kind of results have you seen since starting a regular fitness program?

“I have more energy, more confidence, stronger both physically and mentally.  I have way less anxiety and mood swings because I work out all that junk in the gym!”

Please talk more about the actual changes in your life? (weight loss, confidence, more endurance, less medications etc).

“Weight loss, increased muscle mass.  I can actually see some of my muscles for the first time in my life or at least in a long time.  I have been trying new things and breaking away from my fears!”

Why do you make fitness a priority in your life?

“When I take care of myself, I take better care of family.  I feel better when I work out.”

These days, what makes you truly happy and feel at peace?

“My relationship with God, my family and my frineds”

How do you feel compared to 1 year ago? 

“Lighter, stronger, more confident, even though I have a ways to go until I reach my goal weight.  I am more confident in my body.  I even went to the beach this summer, wore my swimsuit and didn’t want to hide ;)” 

What is your favorite thing about Mo-Mentum Fitness?
“The people.”

What would you say to the person who knows they need to start exercising but is afraid to start? what’s there to be afraid of?

“Just do it.  There is never a perfect time to start, so just start.  There is everything to be afraid of, but  honestly who care, you will either live with regret of not trying because you are afraid or you push past it and do something different with your life, like getting healthy and taking care of yourself”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
