September Superhero of the Month

Superhero of the Month – Jennifer Robles

We are soooo proud to announce our SUPERHERO of the month of September, Jen Robles!  Jen is a spitfire!  She’s always up for a challenge, even when she “doesn’t feel like it!”  The athlete in Jen may have rested for a while when she joined her sorority in college, but she’s definitely back today.   Jen is stronger than she admits.  She’s always got a smile on her face, she’s funny and welcoming to our newest members.   Jen is a bright light and can make you smile even when she’s out of breath!  We love her spirit and willingness to try anything (with a smile too!)

Thank you for bringing your Mo-Mentum, energy, humor and drive to become a stronger you to every workout Jen!  You are a super hero girl!

Q & A

Meet Jennifer Robles, Mo-Mentum Fitness’s Superhero of September! She is definitely a superhero!

Describe what your life (and your health) was like before fitness

“I’ve always been active and liked working out, but mostly by myself. I was a runner who liked to lift weights.”

Was there ever a low point or an experience that made your priorities change?

“Fitness has always been a priority for me.  I got to the point where I wasn’t looking forward to going on runs and needed a change. Not sure it was a true “low” more of I need to find something to keep me challenged and motivated.”

How did fitness come into your life (or back into your life)?

“I’ve been playing sports since I was 5. My true passion in my early years was gymnastics, but as I quickly learned my frame was not made for gymnastics. Jr high I found volleyball and played through high school. College was another story….I joined a sorority and along with it came 30+pounds.  I struggled with my weight until I was about 28 and then found balance.”

What kind of results have you seen since starting a regular fitness program?

“The biggest thing I’ve noticed is my drive to continue to push myself. I work out with the 5:30am crew and they are no joke, yes we joke around and have a good time, but we are constantly pushing each other to achieve more…and then there are our lovely trainers, who  us all that we can do more…and they are typically right☺.”

Please talk more about the actual changes in your life? (weight loss, confidence, more endurance, less medications etc).

“I’ve always had energy, if anything my workouts help balance my emotions.”

Why do you make fitness a priority in your life?

“Because I love it and I want to be a good role model for my kids. I’m a better person when I work out.  The 1 hour me time goes a long way when you are a wife, a mom of 2 (3 if you count my dog) and run a consulting/direct hire placement firm.”

These days, what makes you truly happy and feel at peace?

“Being with my family and feeling truly blessed for all that we are and have.”

How do you feel compared to 1 year ago?

“More stable.”

What is your favorite thing about Mo-Mentum Fitness?
“The people.”

What would you say to the person who knows they need to start exercising but is afraid to start? what’s there to be afraid of?

“To me a life being sedentary is way more scary then a work out… even if Amanda is leading the class…haha.”
